Election staff recruitment

Plymouth City Council Elections

We are currently not recruiting staff for the elections but will usually re-open applications from January.

Presiding officer

Presiding officers are responsible for the overall running of the polling station, at least one poll clerk and returning the ballot box.

Poll clerk

Poll clerks are responsible for providing assistance to voters, setting up the polling station, issuing ballot papers and checking and marking voter's number in the register.

Counting assistant

Count assistants are responsible for accurately sorting and counting ballot papers. Please note staff will need to be in attendance at the Life Centre from 9:15pm. The count will commence from 10pm and continue overnight
