What is black history month?
Black History Month was first celebrated in the UK in 1987 and takes place every October. Throughout Black History Month we aim to raise awareness of the history, cultures and contributions that Black individuals and communities have made. Black History Month offers us all an opportunity to recognise the contributions that people of colour have made to the UK. The theme for Black History Month this year is Time for Change: Actions not words.
Activities are going on across the city to celebrate and mark Black History Month. Diversity Business Incubator have put together a great selection of events so you can get involved with Black History Month.
